We are into our new year, since nominations and elections were held last month.
I think
things went very well last year, Without mentioning names
as to not forget any one
A few of the things we were involved in were:
- Introducing
children to the pledge and instructions of the flag

a member who was involved in Bowling for Big Brothers and
Sisters
- Christmas
parties for the Handicapped and Foster Children
- Did
and helped with Friday night dinners and had a Restaurant
Raffle
There
are many more things, but could be here all day. Did you
know that you could pay for a
Lifetime membership with a credit card? This
is just one of the changes happening
This year
will be sixty years for the Auxillary, and we would like any
input that would help us
celebrate. Please call with information or

This week
was my first meeting as the Aux President. I want to thank
every one who helped me through it.
We were
talking of things to raise money. Joan Sutton had suggested
at the last meeting
to have a food raffle. It was voted on and drawing
will take place on April 15.2007. If you know of a good place
to eat, ask them if they would like to donate, get
their pledge and have it to the VFW by Jan as to have time
to print up the tickets.
Kay Michel
said the easiest way to make money is through the stomach
and would like some more participation for Friday night dinners. On August
11.2006 ,the plan is for sabrett hot dogs, baked beans, mac salad, toss salad etc and
dessert..The meals are only $6.00 and the company is great.
On Sept 8th we plan on a covered dish. If you have a favorite
recipe please help us.
This year
at the convention our post won first prize for theYouth Activities Program in group 6.
We have
the new cancer pins, .they sell for $2.00 and are important
for our cancer programs. A couple of quite notes, A man with
a lots of money donated 2.6 million dollars to build a hospice
center in Rockland County. General Moters Auto Workers Union built two new houses for National Home, they are duplex houses to be
used for the home.
Mel Garrett partipated in a advertisment on TV for General
Moters on May 20 thru 26 and for every car that was sold they donated $500.00 to National
Home.

Hi Sisters,
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of one long time member Jane
Van Leuven, Jane passed away on November 17, 2003. Jane was
a Past President of our auxiliary and a Past President of the
Hudson Valley County Council Auxiliary. Our sympathy goes out
to her family and love ones. Our charter was draped in her memory
at the January 6th, 2004 meeting.
I hope every one had a joyous Holiday Season.
Our Christmas party for BOCES Special Education was a good time
had by all. A very special thank you for all who helped and
to make this special day a success. Everyone pitched in to make
it a great day. A special thanks to Ron & Kathy Mironchik
for the work they did on preparing the food.
Our post children's Christmas party was very nice with food
and gifts. The children all had a great time, and of course
Santa (Ken Rain) and Ms Clause (Pat Browne) sure enjoyed themselves,
Our thanks to Mary Carroll for all her work in organizing the
party, and thanks to all the ladies who made homemade cookies.
On December 2nd the District # 2 President Irene Rohde joined
us at Sunny Day Cafe, Rte 32, Rosendale for our Christmas Dinner
meeting. We had a fine meal for all who attended.
At the post Pearl Harbor Day services, the Ladies Auxiliary
recognize Ms. Helen Schulte Bova who is our post Gold Star mother.
She was presented with a Gold Star Flag in honor of Henry G.
Schulte, her son, who lost his life in Vietnam. This Gold Star
flag will be hung in our post in his honor.
As you all know, the Auxiliary struggled throughout the year
due to many members who are not active and not willing to take
an office. We have limited number of ladies who do so much to
keep us going. We do all we can for the community and our veterans
in need. Volunteer from the Auxiliary help serve dinner at post
events. They help with the breakfast and much more. I ask all
auxiliary members to get involved with a committee or take a
office to help our post and auxiliary.
Hurray, Hurray !!!!!!!!! Membership is 100% thanks to all who
worked so hard to achieve our goal.
May God continue to bless each of you and our great nation,
the United States of America.

Happy Birthday to all who are celebrating a Birthday this month.
We all wish a speedy recovery to those who are ill, and our
deepest sympathy, if you have lost a loved one.
The Auxiliary meeting are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month
at 7 PM at the post. We would love to see more of you attend.
Come and give us a try. Anyone wishing to join give me a call
at 255-8497. Dues are due now, and are still only $10.00 per
year.
I hope to see all of you at the next meeting.
